Kopari Beauty Starry Eye Balm Review

Kopari Beauty Starry Eye Balm Review Posted on 2021-03-11Leave a comment

Over the past recent years, I have been on the hunt for an under-eye hydrating base for my super dry 40+ skin. I have been tirelessly looking for the perfect skin nourishing product which would also serve as under-eye makeup base and stand the coldest temperatures through the day. I tried so many creams, the most emollient ones, so many base products specifically designed for the very fine skin of the under-eye. I even tried to mix creams with a drop of face oil in my search for the perfect combo which would allow me to apply products to correct my dark circles and brighten my under-eye while still keeping it hydrated and avoiding it to look crinkly and/or cakey after only a few minutes of wear.
But nothing so far was really ticking all the boxes….until very recently.

I placed an order for the first time on the U.S. website Revolve. as I wanted to try two specific products (more on that very soon) which I cannot find at any other online retailer in Europe. Revolve ships to Europe and I received my order within a few days, with no extra import taxes (the prices mentioned on the website include all duties and VAT).

Kopari Starry Eye Balm is, like its name implies, a pure eye balm.
It is described as: “an ultra-luxurious, buttery balm that melts into skin. Infused with caffeine to increase circulation and de-puff, light-refracting minerals to illuminate, hyaluronic acid to smooth and plump as well as coconut and rosehip oil to hydrate and nourish, this multi-tasking formula will quickly refresh tired eyes”.

The Kopari Starry Eye Balm is similar to a solid oil, which melts into the skin as soon you pick it up. It feels buttery in a good way, not sticky, and brings so much comfort to my delicate and parched under-eye skin. My under-eye feels so nourished with it.

First, I apply my day eye cream and then a very thin layer of the Kopari Starry Eye Balm. The tiniest amount goes a very long way. I let it sink in during the time I do my face makeup and then I apply a very thin layer of corrector and/or under-eye concealer. The trick here, like for any application of under-eye product for +40 dry skin (according to my personal experience), is to apply very thin layers of each product to avoid ruining the look.

The Kopari Starry Eye Balm might be too greasy for those who don’t suffer from a dry under-eye. But if you have an under-eye skin similar to mine, trust me you need it in your life. If you have an under-eye skin similar to mine, you know that no product can be too emollient to be able to keep this delicate skin hydrated for several hours.

The first ingredient is coconut oil, but it is the scent of the rosehip oil that we can smell. The texture is transparent and very glowy as you can see from the pictures above. It sits really nicely and comfortable on the skin, and performs great as under eye makeup base for me. So far, I tried and combined it with the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Vanish and Becca Cosmetics Under Eye Brightening Corrector. It goes very well underneath both and keeps my skin smooth (read: doesn’t emphasize fine lines and wrinkles) and hydrated throughout the day. Definitely a new must-have for me!

The Kopari Starry Eye Balm retails for €28-€30. You can buy it from:
